  • Development and Communications Coordinator: Full-time position

Mennonite Coalition for Refugee Support is a charitable organization focused on bringing support to people seeking asylum in Canada through the refugee claimant process. We are funded through the generosity of foundations and donors (individual, corporate and faith-based organizations), as well as through grants and fundraising events.

Objectives of this role:

*To advance the mission, vision and values of MCRS through dynamic donor engagement.

*Create, maintain and enhance the relationships that lead to charitable contributions.

*Give leadership to the strategic development and implementation of a diversified and solid fundraising program for the organization.

*Shape and present the story of MCRS through a creative and dynamic communication plan and implementation that leaves no doubt about the MCRS brand and impact.

  • Event Support Intern: Summer position funded by Canada Summer Job Grants

Waterloo Region is a primary destination for refugees and refugee claimants. As a charitable organization, we provide both fundraising events to support our work, as well as community engagement activities like our Summer Picnic to facilitate the newcomer’s sense of belonging and integration into the community.

Objectives of this role:

*Assist in the planning, promotion and implementation of fundraising and community building events.

*Provide administrative assistance to the MCRS Director.

*Develop and distribute creative event promotional materials.

*Assist in the development of video vignettes.

*Other responsibilities as needed and in line with primary objectives and outcomes.
