MCRS Youth

 

YouthThe MCRS Youth is a program designed to provide opportunities for refugee claimant youth to integrate and find a supportive peer group within the community. It provides a place where refugee claimant youth can feel comfortable and provides them a chance to volunteer in the community.

 The MCRS Youth are currently working on a photo and digital storytelling project called MCRS Youth Speak Up! funded by the Kitchener-Waterloo Community Foundation. 

 

 

Highlights

  • MCRS Youth have volunteered at various fundraisers and events for MCRS throughout the year such as the play OPEN?, the KW Multicultural Festival, sorting clothes at Generations Thrift Shop, and more.
  • MCRS Youth also have fun with gym nights, movie nights and potluck parties.

  • Started the MCRS Youth Speak Up! Digital Storytelling and Photo project.

 

MCRS Youth Speak Up! Project

Through workshops on photography, sound, storytelling and editing, youth will develop the tools to be able to tell their stories through images and sound and will share these with the community. Check back for more information.
