MCRS Community Events

2010 Winter Party

As part of building community and incorporating refugees into the community, MCRS hosts celebrations which include a summer picnic and a winter party, cultural programs, games for families, and volunteer recognition events. Each December and July MCRS hosts a Winter Party and a Summer Picnic, these events are designed to connect refugee claimants and the community. The events have presentations, dances, singing, and food. We hope to increase the connections between the community and refugee claimants at these events, so we encourage all community members to be involved.

 

Highlights

  • Volunteers from Waterloo MB Church prepared a delicious meal for over 140 refugee claimant families and friends of MCRS at the MCRS Christmas Party, December 2011.
  • Refugee claimant families at the MCRS Summer Picnic were treated to music, dance, games and food at the Victoria Park Pavilion, July, 2011.
