Supporting Refugee Claimants
After fleeing violence, oppression, and untold rejection, refugee claimants now face the immediate reality of providing for their families and navigating through the complex refugee claims process. MCRS walks alongside families by helping with complex paperwork, assisting with interpretation and by connecting them with healthcare, schooling and possible jobs.
How we Support
MCRS provides support to refugee claimants through our many programs. The staff and volunteers at MCRS support refugee claimants with the following services:
- completing and submitting documents to the government
- providing emotional support to new refugee claimant families
- finding housing
- providing interpreters for interviews with Citizenship and Immigration
- finding or providing legal support
- connecting refugee claimant families to community resources
- advocating on behalf of refugee claimants
- and much more.
All this would not be possible without the many incredible volunteers who serve in our many volunteer programs.
